Notes:
This plant or vine appeared in my yard in May 2016 in Montgomery AL. It is a shiny speckled/marbled looking plant that is dark green with light green patches running down the center. What is this?

Since there are no flowers and fruits to be certain. Maybe a species of Smilax? this might be Jackson vine aka lanceleaf greenbrier (Smilax lanceolata aka Smilax smallii.
