Maybe night blooming jasmine (Cestrum nocturnum). Check it out and see if you have a match. According to sources C. nocturnum is a tropical plant, it will need a shelter location from cold winter, winter frost, hot afternoon sun, and winter protection (deep much,covering the plan, etc…) It’s roots hardy and often grows back in your zone (USDA zone 8b: 15¡F to 20¡F.)
