Notes:

I found this growing in a shaded roadside in the midst of a thick carpet of Virginia creeper. It stood about 14 inches tall and there were several plants together. The flowers look like mini irises all growing on a stalk.

    The flowers are clear enough to narrow down, but this maybe either smooth hedgenettle (Stachys tenuifolia) or American germander/Canadian germander (Teucrium canadense).
