Notes:

Grows like a peach tree. Leaves are similar to a peach tree but the fruit it bears is green and shaped oval like an avocado. It never stays on the tree long enough to mature because the squirrels eat it before it can fully ripen. The biggest size we’ve seen it get is as the size of a dinosaur plum. The bloom on the plant comes on just like a peach tree the colors of a pinkish white. Leaves are 3-6 inches in length. Fruit has bloomed on the tree the last two years. Plant is about 18ft. Tall.

I suppose an almond might grow in Georgia.

If the squirrels will leave you one with a seed inside, it would help to identify the fruit. A nectarine seed is very similar to a peach seed.

Looks like it could be a nectarine tree. The fruit is delicious when ripe.
