Notes:
This weed grows in natural area, near street (new lots) and near sodded lawn – Fayette county. When I pull the small plants, I don’t seem to be able to get roots out of the dirt. The photo is the early April stage. it grows tall (around 3 feet) and produces seed-like flowers in the fall. By winter, the stalks lose the leaves and the stalks are stick-like. I tried pre-emergent in the area last Fall and this spring but it did not seem to make a difference.
