We’d like to identify the weed in these two pictures so we can try and control. It is spreading all over the bermuda grass and also fescue in the back yard.

It’s hard to tell with out its flowers. I’m wondering if these could be nutsedge (Cyperus esculentus)? Check out the included link below for information. That weed appears to be Nutsedge. It is probably purple Nutsedge and difficult to eradicate.

I hate to be the one to tell you, but that is nut sedge, and it is a beast to get rid of. There is a spray you can use )name escapes me) that won’t kill your Bermuda, but it takes repeated applications and extreme vigilance to get rid of.
