Notes:
I relocated from Atlanta to New Orleans 6 yrs ago. I must say, sliding my shovel intpo the earth is sweet. With that said there are several weeds here that make for an unhappy gardener. When this appears it will vine around anything near. A tiny curl connects it to something. Forget pulling it.It is connected to a “tuber”. I just rented an apt & the back is covered. When you dig one you see them side by side 6″loeng,a foot long. If you think you can “till” them away forget it.

Yes & yes….it grows everywhere here. I can see some right now consuming an 8ft. fence. Our kudzu is “cats claw”. It covers houses with its “claw like” attachment. This is more tender. Easy to pull away & remove the foliage but that root…man it’s unbelievable. Thanks for your response. Dan Gill is with LSU AG Center here maybe he can name it & we can find out more about it.

Do you see these growing in unmanaged areas and if so how tall are they?
