I thought it was Wisteria when it first began sprouting. I know its not now.

    I think chinese sumac…(Ailanthus altissima) I found an article with a pic of them side by side… http://www.thesanguineroot.com/?p=887 Click the pic to enlarge. The red gives it away, I can’t find any pics of the native sumac with the reddish tinted spring leaves. After verifying that you have the invasive, you’re gonna want to get rid of it while it’s small.

    You may have issues with it trying to form a grove of its own. It’s not quite as invasive as wisteria, but most sumac will send underground runners and try to spread.
