Maybe a woodland skipper. http://www.cirrusimage.com/skipper_photos.htm Different butterflies lay their eggs on different plants. Most use the wild plants in the local weedy lot. I can’t find anything on google about hosta being a host plant for butterflies. So… Very unlikely the butterfly will do anything to your hosta except pollinate the flowers.
