Pampas Grass – Cutting Plumes
Q: For only the second time in 15 years, my pampas grass has had beautiful plumes this year. I am tempted to cut them for decorations, but am afraid I
might interfere with their blooming next year. Is it O.K. to cut these plumes and if so when? Anything else I need to do this year? The plant is big and healthy and in full sun.
A: Won’t hurt at all to cut them. Spray lightly with hair spray to keep them from shattering.
