South Africa Trip 2014 – Plants

It was fascinating to see how many South African plants are also grown in the South: hydrangea, agapanthus, crapemyrtle, sweetgum and oaks, to name a few.

Many of our familiar garden plants are native to Africa: gladiolus, gardenia, Gerber daisy, straw flower, salvia, calla and hibiscus, plus many others.
