Bull Thistle
Q: I moved last year and had this come up in the yard of my new home. It grew to about 6ft. The spines were amazing and the plant was so spectacular I started some seeds. Do you recognize it?
A: I believe it’s bull thistle, Cirsium vulgare.
Like most thistles, it can be a noxious weed. Read the comments below before you fall in love with it.
You should consider the situation strongly before you plant the seeds outdoors.
Remember that kudzu was considered ornamental when it was first introduced!
