Notes:
I live at 9000′ in the mountains near Guffey, CO. We have these weeds around. My neighbor says they are Canada Thistle and wants to use herbicide to try to get rid of them. I’m not convinced these are Canada Thistle. Can you help me identify this?

Maybe Cirsium canescens, common names include Platte thistle, Prairie thistle & Creamy thistle? According to sources, Canada thistle has pink-purple flowers. I’m not an expert of the genus and suggest you check these included links to help further.
