“The bark is flaky” Do you mean the bark is peeling off the trunk? It might be some type of double-flowered Deutzia.

Thanks so much but I am sure it is not Lady Banks as we have Lady Banks roses as well. This is not a rose. The bark is flaky and the greenery is only at the end. Any ideas??
