This came up in my perennial bed this year. I just let it grow to see if it might bloom and it didnÕt have a bloom of any kind.

It’s hard to tell without more details, i.e. closeup of those axillary buds, plant’s main trunk, the whole plant, etc…. I’m wondering if this might be a type of willow (salix)?
