If it’s the same thing that grew back there last year, it can get almost 5′ tall and have yellow flowers at the top. It never gets bushy. I’m thinking not ragweed or goldenrod. It seems to be some kind of weed.

Definitely not ragweed. Goldenrod would be among a long list of possibilities that I can’t narrow down from the level of detail the photo allows. And more detail of the leaves alone might not suffice, as it is a fairly common leaf shape.
