Notes:
Trees (2) located on newly purchased property in a private RECOGNIZED OLD GROWTH FOREST in southern Ontario. Tree has a pinkish reddish bark with very tiny needles. Some branches have green needles, some reddish brown color. First day of summer here – tree is constantly shedding the needles. Soil here is sandy and acidic. Lots of white pines growing here. Do not believe this tree is native. Previous owners of property were horticulturalists. Thanks!

I love the bark of that tree. What would be the diameter of this trunk? Horticulturalists? I am thinking something exotic. A young Redwood, Sequoia, or one of those big trees in southern Chile and Argentina, Fitzroya cupressoides. Keep searching!
