    The edges of the leaves appear to be smooth, which I don’t believe fits any of the 3 suggested candidates – unless one of the many species of hickory does, that I’m unaware of.

    Or possibly pecans…not sure what the hulls on pecans look like, but that looks most like hickory to me.

    Hickory nuts. Black walnuts would not have a segmented hull like that.
