I believe it is a Japanese maple tree! If so, you are very lucky to have one in your landscape… have a look at the various pix of these trees available on line. If still confused, u might take these pix above to a full service nursery to inquire about the ID on this tree. Ask for the horticulturist on staff for help. Best wishes and congrats on your find.
