Notes:

I often see these small trees growing at the base of pine trees. They are evergreen. My searches on PlantNet are always inconclusive. Some sort of juniper or cedar? Any ideas?

    Not able to see the whole plant and without its cones to help with the ID, I think maybe the eastern red cedar (Juniperus virginiana)? Check out the included link below for diagnostic keys.
