Notes:
Just brought a house in April an we have a peach tree in the backyard but according to the neighbor it was planted two years ago an it justs started to produce peaches. The problem that i’m having is that the tree branch was leaning on the ground had to lift it up, the peaches are getting brown rot, clear sap is coming out them, the peaches that just started growing is turning to powder, insects are all over them, and there is clear an brown sap on the branches. What can i do?

Scott Registered says:
Nothing this year. But read in Walter’s posts about the challenges of home owner grown peaches and next spring be prepared with fungicides and pesticides to preserve a precious few perfect peaches. And since it is unlikely you will get an edible peach this year, if you just want some pay back on the pests on your emperiled peaches, pass them the pesticide now, if you please.

Take a look at this UGA spray guide for peaches, nectarines and plums. Now, go crank the chain saw and treat it the most economically feasible way. Store bought peaches ain’t a bad deal. http://www.ent.uga.edu/peach/PeachGuide.pdf
