Fatoua villosa… A born pregnant annual… Said to bloom as a two week old seedling! One of a very few weeds that I remove on sight, and either toss in the garbage, or add to the grill… Definitely one to prevent getting a toe hold in the garden… Known as a “nursery weed”, most people get it for free in those nursery pots, and don’t realize the need to eliminate it… Or avoid purchasing the plant… We end up with this persistent plant forming ever larger colonies in our yards, long after the original plants have died… Surprisingly… The deer seem to have a taste for this pest… And end up spreading them every where! 🙁
