Notes:

Size ranged from 1/8 of and inch to 1/4 of an inch or bigger. On the tomato bushes but no where else. Seem to be munching on the leaves only. Of the three variety of bushes I have only 2 have these bugs on them. First time I’ve seen these since planting this area in 3 years.

Potato beetles are hard shelled, and striped….these look more like the viburnum leaf beetle to me….try neem oil and yellow sticky traps.

Tomatoes and potatoes are very closely related. Potato bugs might very well eat tomato plants too. I’ve been fortunate so far in not having them on any of my tomatoes or potatoes, but I keep a close eye on them…When I was a kid we had to pick them off every day and toss them into the burning fire pit. I think insecticidal soap might keep them off. Worth a try anyway.

Are you sure it was on tomato? Looks like a potato bug… I’ve only seen them on potatoes and horse nettles.
