Notes:
This plant is very hard to kill. It is almost impossible to pull from the ground without breaking off at the stems. It seems to spread through a lot of roots. It can grow quite tall if left alone. It has taken over my garden at the side of my house. What is it and how can I kill it?

The leaves look like a Rumex but most pictures I see of Rumex show the leaves clustered at the bottom of the plant and then stems shooting up to seeds. That is not the case with my plants.

Definitely rumex. Considered edible. Dig out. Expect a tap root…. Digs out better if soil is moist.
