This large tree in the “natural” area near my detached garage suddenly dropped almost all its leaves a few weeks ago. It was pretty dry that week and that area gets no irrigation. I plan to watch the tree in case it is dead – I don’t want it to fall on my garage. I have no idea what kind of tree it is. I attached a photo of the large leaves (that’s the toe of my sneaker) and a shot of the trunk. Can you identify the tree? Is this sudden leaf drop a sign of a problem?
