Notes:
Wish I had better photos.. this looks almost like a weeping tree when the branches grew out; had a small tree trunk and was around 5′ tall. This tree blooms late summer and into fall and the bees absolutely love it! I have had no success in identifying what this tree is (perhaps because all I have are the leaves, flowers and a poor memory to do so). Anyway, any help in identifying this lovely tree is appreciated! Thank you!

Maybe a cultivar of bluebeard from the Caryopteris genus. I’m guessing only, this could be from the Caryopteris x clandonensis group. Sorry, I can’t tell for certain which cultivar this is. Check it out and see if you have a match. Best wishes! https://www.google.com/search?q=Caryopteris&sa=X&stick=H4sIAAAAAAAAAOPgE-LWT9c3NDLKMLAoNFDi0s_VNzCqMkwzqtCyzE620k_KzM_JT6_Uzy9KT8zLLM6NT85JLC7OTMtMTizJzM-zyshMz0gtUkAVBQBvWJL7VgAAAA&biw=1525&bih=681&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&ved=0ahUKEwjsvaXMxprSAhXDdSYKHcbgAR4QiR4IjQE#imgrc=qsf-9SN1SM8-iM:
