Notes:
This perfect little shrub a got 3 yrs ago to go in a small space between deck and stairs. As you can see…very slow growth which is perfect. Evergreen foliage that is very soft and tightly spaced (not prickly/needle) like most evergreen shrubs. Some of the foliage comes out white on tips (those aren’t dead spots in pic). I now ripped out some fast growing shrubs that I have to trim twice a year and need 8 of these but can’t find them after 3 stores today. Place I got it closed. Need name?

Need close up of the foliage for better ID. I am taking a guess from your description of the plant. It might be a dwarf form of Japanese cedar (Cryptomeria japonica ). There is a dwarf cultivar with white tips on the new growth, the Cryptomeria japonica ‘Knaptonensis’. If this is not the right plant , please re post with closeup photo of the foliage. Thank you and Best wishes!.
