Here is a better shot of theses yellow flowers I have growing everywhere. They bloom in late August, resemble boneset. skinny stalks. They grow among the jewel weed and ironweeds. Mostly grow in wet areas. about 4 feet high.

If those dark spots on the leaves were the actual gland dots,then it would be Flat-top Goldentop, Euthamia graminifolia (formerly Solidago graminifolia). These black spots are characteristic of Grass-leaved Goldenrod – no other Goldenrod gets these, Stone did have right ID. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euthamia

After stone pointed out in the previous posting that there are a number of species of goldenrod, I searched online and found one that I thought matched it. Sorry, don’t remember where I found it.
