Notes:

Can you tell me what kind of insect this is (I took a photo next to a yardstick for scale). They have translucent glossy bodies that appear to be filled with blood. They were in a small cluster of about 40 bugs on our back porch post & rail, and they were very aggressive in their movements.

    What they look like… is leaf-foot bugs (Leptoglossus spp) http://entnemdept.ufl.edu/creatures/orn/leaffooted_bug.htm But they’re usually on our veggies n flowers… surprised to see them on your porch… There’s also a bunch of assassin bugs that look similar… if there’s a chance that you have the good bugs… Better to wait and see…
