My ‘guess’ for cosmos (Cosmos bipinnatus) based on the linear leaves, opposite branching and green or red coloring of the stems. According to sources, cosmos blooms from summer til frost. But not having the plant in person my ‘guess’ could still be wrong and this suggested ID does need flowers for a confirmed ID. Check out the included below for cosmos that grows to 7 feet. on the side note, in my own garden, mine currently 6.5 feet still growing and no bloom also. Again, if and when it ‘blooms’ and it isn’t cosmos, please resubmit with photo of flowers best wishes!

Without flowers to narrow down, I’m guessing maybe cosmos (Cosmos bipinnatus)? Flowers are needed for a confirmed ID. When it’s blooms and you still don’t know, please resubmit with photo of flowers. For now check out the included link below for more information on the species. Click on images to enlarge. Best wishes!
