This is growing in my mint. The mint is dormant.

    This plant looks like a bad weed that I have. It tries to take over my Lilly-of-the-Valley” patch. It produces burrs which are hard to remove from pant legs and the fur of cats. I call it by the common name of Black Snake Root.

    Maybe a type of avens (Geum) (?), possible the white avens (Geum canadense) in its winter rosette form. Flowers are need for a confirmed ID. When it blooms and you still don’t know, make new post with photo of flowers. Best wishes!
