Notes:

Tree like plant with dark wood and very long thorns. Small yellow leaves . Long thorns are not located on main stem of plant. I heard it called Devil’s Fingernails but I am unable to find any information about the plant. Can anyone help me identify this plant. Thanks!

Magnolia Anne’s description of “dark wood” made me wonder if it was some other plant than Hardy orange. Compare branch and thorn with this shot http://www.carolinanature.com/trees/potr4574.jpg

The picture is very blurry, but it does look very much like my Poncirus trifoliata ÔFlying DragonÕ. Have never heard of that being called Devil’s Fingernails though.

Oops, reading glasses helped and on second thought, probably not Hardy orange.

    Poncirus trifoliate: trifoliate-orange or Hardy-orange?
