Notes:
This plant is in my daughter-in-law’s garden at her new home and we are stumped as to what this might be. It blooms late summer/early autumn, is about 18 inches tall, grows in a mounded form, and has come back each year for two years in a row now. If this isn’t a good enough picture, I will try to send another one.

Katie Price Unregistered says:
It is Torenia or Wishbone Flower, sold in the Atlanta area as an annual. Your daughter-in-law’s may have come up from seeds. It does best in partial sun/light shade.
