I noticed this lone tree along side of the road in Ocmulgee National Park. It looks like a red honeysuckle, but I thought red honeysuckle was a vine. I pulled off what looked like a peanut from it hoping it is a seed. I didn’t notice a fragrance from the blooms.

That is a buckeye tree. http://www.vendio.com/stores/onlinetreefarm/item/flowering/red-buckeye-tree/lid=10362967
Now other than being a second rate football team buckeyes are also known for growing a nut that brings good luck and relief from rheumatism.
    Right pretty bloom ain’t it.
