Mushrooms – Growing in Houseplant
Q: I found yellow mushrooms growing in my Christmas cactus. I wonder if you could identify them.
A: Someone is watering too much…and it’s not me!
Mushrooms like these won’t appear unless a moisture-loving fungus is decomposing the potting soil rapidly.
Your best bet is to repot the Christmas cactus plant into fresh, high-quality potting soil….and in the future water only when your finger comes up dry after you press it into the soil.
