Bermudagrass- Lawn Mower
Q: I would like to know if there is a specific type of lawn mower that should be used to cut bermudagrass sod.
A: If you mow at a normal height of 1.5 inches, any rotary mower with a sharp blade will do fine. Key to a good cut is a level lawn. You may need to fill low spots with a 1:1 mixture of sand and topsoil to avoid scalping when a wheel falls into a rut. If you intend to mow lower that 1.5 inches, reel-type mowers are best.
