Tomatoes – Preparing a Raised Bed
Q: Can you tell me how deep a raised bed should be for tomatoes?
A: I think 10 inches of soft soil would make any vegetable happy. Personally, I use 6″ wide boards to line my beds. I pour a three inch layer of soil conditioner onto the native soil inside the bed and mix everything thoroughly. I them bring in more amended soil from other parts of my landscape to fill the bed completely.
