My son gave this plant to Mom on Mother’s Day. It came with no name nor care instructions. It appears to be like a miniature cypress but I’m not sure. Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe a type of heath (Erica), and I’m speculating this might be Porcelain heath, Italian heather & Wax heath (Erica ventricosa). Check it out and see if you have a match! https://garden.org/plants/photo/388755/
