My dad planted these as seedlings three years ago. They are now about 3Õ tall, and bearing fruit. Dad has since passed away, and IÕm trying to figure out exactly what they are and if they are edible.

I have never seen Nanking cherry grow this far south. Let me know how it does.

My condolence for the passing of your Dad. Maybe Nanking Cherry (Prunus tomentosa)? Check it out and see if you have a match. According to sources Nanking Cherry is edible. Please check with the local Agriculture Extension Service for a confirmed ID before consuming. Best wishes!
