Indeed it is a perennial Marq but Lamium maculatum has similar leaf and bloom structure to its winter annual cousins henbit and dead nettle. http://www.clemson.edu/extension/hgic/pests/weeds/hgic2321.html

I may be wrong but I believe it’s a perinnial. The yard where it is growing isn’t well maintained which leads me to believe it ‘s been there a while.

This has so many similarities to a common winter annual that I couldn’t resist searching for ornamental Henbit! Spotted Dead Nettle: Lamium maculatum should get us in the ballpark.
