Is this a weed or an herb sprouted from last year’s crop?

My first thought was Jacquemontia tamnifolia. In which case I would remove every one you see if itÕs in your garden/flower bed. It has clusters of pretty blue flowers but all those apparently produce large numbers of seed. It proliferates in idle areas with disturbed soil.

It’s hard to tell at this stage. I can’t tell if this is the slender amaranth (Amaranthus viridis) or the hairy cluster vine (Jacquemontia tamnifolia? If the leaves are alternate and stem start to grow more vine-like, it could be the hairy cluster vine (?). Check out the included link below for more information. Click on images to enlarge. If neither is a match, please resubmit as this grows more mature and give us an update. Thank you & best wishes!
