Notes:
Can someone tell me the variety of this holly tree? These holly trees are in the median along Flat Shoals Pkwy in South Dekalb. I would like to plant two of these trees in my backyard. Thanks for your help

Walter Reeves The Georgia Gardener says:
According to Matthew Chappell, Asst. Professor & Ext. Horticulturist “Foster spines become less pronounced the lower (petiole end) you get. Savannah spines remain pronounced across the entire margin. Also – Savannah spines tend to be slightly longer and lobes deeper immediately above spines. The result is 2-4 fewer spines on Foster compared to Savannah.” I can’t quite make out the spines in the pix above.

Walter, I always thought the Savannah holly had a lighter green and larger leaf than the Foster holly. Are these unreliable indicators?
