Plants details are not clear enough to be certain. I’m taking a guess only, these could be in the Osmoxylon lineare genus, common names include green Aralia aka Miagos bush? O. lineare belongs in same plant Araliaceae family with the Aralia genus. This maybe the case of with both genera belong to the same plant family, and common names can cause confusion of which genus a particular plant is classified under.
