Also known as Jimson Weed here in northern New Mexico. I love this plant, its beauty that is. The blooms are lovely but the pods that come along afterwards are incredible. Michael Moore, the herbalist, writes about this plant in his book Medicinal Plants. I would never be tempted by his description to use this one medicinally, he warned strongly of its potential for harm.

Stone, thank you for identifying this plant so fast. Actually, I am doing this for my friend. She said she is going to give me one of this plant. However, after doing some reading this evening, I am having second thought about growing it as part of my gardens since all parts of this plant is poisonous. We are suppose to thoroughly wash our hands after handling any part of this plant!
