Notes:
Hi there !
Thank you for taking a look at this for me. A friend had this in a pot outside and it barely survived so I brought it home. It almost died. It had one leaf on it then it started growing another side that the top part but then it got wet looks like a sickness.
I would like to know what type of synthesis and what is harming the leaves.

It will be hard to tell without flowers. I can’t tell if this is a species of Costus or something in the Trandescantia from the spiderwort family? I’m not confident of either. Regrettably I don’t know what is the cause for the discoloring & damaged leaves, my guess is perhaps slugs or snails(? ). The plant appears to be over watered as well. Let the soil dries out between watering. If this was my plant, I would grow it outside at a location where it would receive some morning sun.
As this plant grows more mature, please resubmit and give us an update with new photos. For now check out these mentioned species above. Again until a more mature specimen or flowers to narrow down, I could only speculate for now. Thank you & best wishes!
