Notes:
We just moved into a new house and need your help identifying some of the plants in the yard. We have four of these under the shade of a large tree. They get a few hours of direct sunlight each day and from the sparse leaves, I would guess they are not receiving enough light. These are about chest high.

Maybe some thing in the banana shrub, port wine magnolia (Magnolia figo syn. include Michelia figo, M. fuscata) or its variety Maagnolia figo var. skinneriana. Until these plants bloom to confirm whether or not they are banana shrub, I’m speculating for now.
