Notes:
Started off with a broad leaf resembling a possible melon then the leaves got smaller and the “shoots” came. They are purple poofs and the bees are all over them. They are taking on a shrub like existence too. Approximately 3′ in diameter and about 3′ tall.

Maybe a species of burdock (Arctium). This might be lesser burdock or common burdock (Arctium minus). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arctium_minus
