Top round leaf feels waxy. No flowers seen except berries start green then yellows and turn red. When first seen, plant was low, then following year appears to be about a foot high. Discovered when trying to reclaim old site of flower garden/ pond/ sitting area.

The leaves and fruits look similar to some type of honeysuckle (Lonicera). There are about 180 species. Sorry, I don’t know which species or cultivars this is. According to sources, some of the species grow in your region included Lonicera ciliosa, and Lonicera Dioica. Best wishes!
