Notes:
I live in Pennsylvania and am the second owner of our house. The previous owner had an extensive garden that includes the plant in the attached photos. I have tried to find out what type of plant it is, but have been unsuccessful. It has grown quite tall, but I am not sure how to treat it until I figure out what it is. The close-up photo shows one of the seeds, which is a few inches in diameter with several spikes sticking out. The older seeds have a cracked surface. Thank you.

Maybe a type of smooth Arizona cypress (Cupressus Arizonica var Glabra). This might be Cupressus Arizonica var Glabra ‘Raywood’s Weeping’.
