Notes:
This plant sprang up in early August and has continued to grow very successfully and fast. It has green leaves and several stalks growing out of the same group. Its about 6′ tall, has bluish purple cone flowers.

salvia uliginosa, possibly? Does it run? I like the perennial salvias, but uglinosa is not a favorite, due to the stolons. It’s still pretty, attracts butterflies and other pollinators, I just relegate it to an out of the way area.

This appears to be a blue salvia. Break a leaf, and if it smells like sage, that is what it is. Buck
